ESSENCE OF LANDSCAPE
The central theme of my project is revolves around delving into the intrinsic essence of landscapes. Painters and photographers tirelessly strive to depict and capture landscapes with the utmost realism. However, can we truly guarantee that our eyes perceive reality accurately? To address this question, I have devised a unique approach that involves utilizing natural elements to create a "real" landscape.
In this method, I plan to adapt my tools to harmonize with the natural environment. For instance, I will blend sand with paint and carefully position the painting paper inside a bottle. Upon tossing this bottle into the sea, the force of the waves will interact with the mixture, capturing intriguing traces of the sea.
Following this process, my intention is to juxtapose the resulting painting alongside a self-captured landscape photograph. However, I will purposefully leave the edges of the artwork open in all four directions. This deliberate choice aims to provoke the audience to contemplate the question of reality and engage in a thoughtful exploration of their own perceptions.
By combining these elements and encouraging introspection, my assessment endeavors to evoke a deeper understanding of the complex relationship between perception, reality, and the inherent essence of landscapes.
